Labor Support Services

A Personalized Prenatal Meeting

Finding the right doula is as much about chemistry as it is philosophy. Our doulas are happy to meet with you for a free prenatal consultation.

Birth Day Presence is committed to supporting expectant parents no matter what their financial circumstances. We have different teams of birth doulas working in all price ranges, based on their experience and training. Our fees range from $800 to $2400.

IN-HOSPITAL Many new moms find their hospital stay postpartum to be extremely challenging. Unfortunately, nurses often lack the most current information on breastfeeding support. Also, hospitals are understaffed and often impose rigid protocols for new moms and babies. Our doulas are available for daytime and overnights to offer personalized, devoted care. For families with older children, an overnight doula can provide care for the mother, freeing the partner to be home. In-hospital doulas are also beneficial for mothers who have given birth by cesarean (whether planned or unplanned) or have had long, difficult labors. If you find yourself needing support, though you had not anticipated it, please call and I will try to connect you with a doula that or the next day.

IN-HOME Whether it's for a few hours a day or overnight, our doulas will help you build confidence and provide support for the whole new family in the comfort of your home.

SPECIALIZED CARE FOR POSTPARTUM DEPRESSION At least one in ten new mothers experiences various degrees of postpartum depression. Postpartum complications can occur within days of the delivery or appear gradually, sometimes up to a year or so later. We are pleased to offer specialized postpartum support for women experiencing these difficult feelings.

Our fees are $45 per hour for singletons and $50/hr for twins, and include a 4-hour minimum per day. Overnights are available as well a $350/10 hr night for singletons and $425/10 hr night for twins. Everyone in the hospital has been telling us what a happy and relaxed baby she is, and we want you to know that we know that this is due in great part to your teachings. I want everyone to take your class. I don't think we realized at the time how important your wisdom was. I especially would recommend the class, just because all of the things you repeated to us over and overbecame very instinctual and important when we were mid-labor. When something would happen in the labor that you had prepared us for, we didn't feel scared or stressed, instead we felt almost comforted that things were moving along.
